YA Wednesday: Creepy Sleeping Beauty, Fairytales with Fierce Females, Irrational Fears from Books, YA Magical Realism, @PaperbackParadise

QueenSnowWhiteToday for YA Wednesday I’ve gathered some scary story links. I don’t scare as easily as I used to, but I still remember how frightened I was by the first ghost story I read. It had something to do with shipwrecked sailors rising from the dead, marching over the sand, and leaving wet footprints and dripping all over some kid’s bedroom. Doesn’t seem so horrifying in retrospect but at the time I was a basket case.

I’ve included some fairy tale links as well because few things are scarier than fairy tales in their original pre-Disney form, though even Disney can be pretty scary (Ursula in The Little Mermaid, for example).
